Here is a non-exhaustive list of scalp diseases: cyst, prominent nevus, melanoma, seborrheic dermatitis, lichen planus pilaris, frontal fibrosis alopecia, psoriasis, discoid lupus erythematosus. In addition, the scalp can be affected by parasitic diseases such as ringworm or trauma caused by accidents, burns or surgery.
In some cases, these pathologies will need to be treated quickly to prevent their development into a more serious condition or the permanent destruction of the hair follicles. In other cases, mainly cysts, prominent nevi or scars, the patient may wish to have them removed for practical or aesthetic reasons.
